Dr.Vinyl Bio.
Dr.Vinyl is Alberto Corzo; DJ, producer and multiinstrumentalist, who was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1983.
Since he was a Child, he got interested all kind of music; he imitated Michael Jackson’s movements
and he danced as NYC Breakers in “Graffiti Rock”. From this moment, he got interested in music, specially
the one that was done with samples and electronic systems. When he was 16, he created his first
musical projects. Meanwhile he was certificated in multimedia. His works were played in raves and all
kind of parties in his province, performances that make him well-known. when he was 20 years traveling
throughout Europe and Spain doing gigs under the name berxxx.
However, he felt snowed under with this kind of life. That was when he wanted to know more things about
his favourite music: rap and black music. He left his time as a professional Dj behind him in order
to be a specialist on electric music. He searched the deepest roots of the music that is playing around
the world today and he met artists as: Bobby Womack, bands as great as The incredible Bongo Band,
Speedometers or musicians as Chuck Berry or his great sultan: BBKing. He collected instruments:
basses, guitars, trumpets,… He acquired musical qualities for the interpretation.
Alberto never abandoned his creative side: experienced new sounds, new melodies and squeezed his
mind and his instruments, came to be considered an artist who could not be attached, perhaps because
of that, the label that best defined him was his stage name: Dr. Vinyl. Able to fuse genres
Triphop, Electro, Rap, Funky, R & B, Nujazz ... not afraid ever face a new project
Currently, Alberto lives in Barcelona, a city in which he has his studio. Works for rmx's commissions
and produces both its own EP's (now work with the label Eclectic Records) and rap groups.
